FCI Constructors, Inc., is looking for a Corporate EHS Director to oversee the safety operations of our firm. We are a successful, employee-owned general contractor/construction manager with eight offices and 400 employees. We expect continued, steady growth in the near future, across our region. Our work spans the Rocky Mountain region and covers North Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico. This full-time, salaried position will be based in our corporate headquarters of Grand Junction, CO, with necessary travel to other locations.

Position Description: The EHS Director reports to the President/CEO, and is responsible for maintaining and implementing the established FCI Constructors’ EHS and Loss Control Program, in collaboration with the firm’s senior leadership and Regional Safety Managers, including:

  • Lead and demonstrate their commitment to health and safety by example, and have the responsibility of encouraging a strong, effective, and continuing effort to eliminate occupational injury and illness
  • Promotion of FCI’s EHS culture among FCI personnel through training and coaching
  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance will all OSHA regulations, client mandates, and FCI policy related to safe working conditions
  • Assist in the development of site-specific Job Hazard Analyses, Stormwater Management Plans, and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Programs
  • Periodic inspections of active construction sites, and facilitation of inspections by governmental agencies related to safety
  • Identify areas of potential safety concern and incorporate appropriate control measures
  • Participate in the investigation of all serious accidents and/or occupational illnesses
  • Oversight of maintenance and upkeep of FCI-owned vehicles and equipment to ensure safe operation
  • Updating EHS and Loss Control Program as necessary, related to governmental mandates and OSHA requirements, with subsequent training given to all relevant employees
  • Develop and implement safety recognition programs
  • Compilation and distribution of statistical data relative to occupational injury and illness experience
  • Oversight of Corporate Training Program, in conjunction with Corporate Training Manager, to ensure employees obtain necessary certifications and education to remain compliant with EHS Policy and manage documentation
  • Ongoing implementation and improvement of our existing Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) program
  • Proficiency in modern technology used in construction is needed to be successful in this position

Administrative Assistant – The Administrative Assistant is responsible for greeting people as they enter the facility, answering/fielding phone calls, keeping orderly and accurate project record files on all assigned project tasks, mail duties, and handling monthly invoicing. The Administrative Assistant must be efficient in their organizational skills, and proficient in Word processing, spreadsheet software, grammar, and composition. The successful applicant will possess an upbeat, positive disposition along with the desire to be a key player within a dynamic environment. Responsibilities: Greet/welcome people who enter the building, answer the front desk phone system/transfer calls to the appropriate recipient, format and compose correspondence from drafts and/or general directions, receive/distribute mail, distribute, track and file assigned project-related material and correspondence (i.e. project insurance certificates, schedule meetings on an as needed basis). Core Competencies / Skill Sets: Thorough knowledge of office practices, procedures, and the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, databases, email programs (Outlook), exceptional English grammar skills, exceptional desktop management skills, thorough knowledge of general office equipment such as multi-line phone system, copier, etc., ability to perform a variety of assignments requiring independent judgment and time management skills, Ability to multi-task and prioritize, team-oriented, maintain a high standard of ethical behavior in all business dealings, accept a responsibility to manage FCI’s resources and own personal behavior with proper regard to the rights of others. Project Coordinator – We are looking for an energetic, highly organized individual to join our Team.  As a Project Coordinator, you will be the administrative focal point for both Job Order and Large Projects.  Working directly with the Project Manager, your responsibilities will include reviewing our client contracts to form an understanding of their specific needs for each project, monthly subcontractor and owner pay applications, subcontracts, change orders, budget adjustments, insurance, and certified payroll.  This position would also provide shared office phone back up to the receptionist. The Project Coordinator is a versatile role, therefore efficient desktop management and a team player mentality are a must.  Thorough knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation and excellent communication skills are required.   A good understanding of office practices, procedures, and the use of Microsoft Office is also required.  Knowledge of construction and the use of the Procore Construction Management system would be helpful. BIM Engineer – The BIM Engineer will work alongside the construction project team to deliver the 3D coordination process on multiple projects from concept to completion.  An in-depth 3D analysis of building systems and components is necessary to ensure their fit within the project design.  The BIM Engineer provides constructability review, 3D coordination, clash resolution, and assists in all phases of a project – working with design and construction professionals.  Core competencies:  Understanding of building construction and sequencing, basic knowledge of structural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and architectural systems, proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, NavisWorks, and related software, collaboration with both internal and external teams, generation of 3D views, drawings and visualizations, lift drawings and clash resolution, basic knowledge of local building code, laser scanning, generation of point files, conversion of 2D drawings to 3D models, and delivery of BIM as-builts.  Requirements:  BS in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture or 2 yrs of field experience.  Familiarity with Autodesk Revit Suite, ProLog Manager, Primavera Project Planner, or similar software. Minimum Requirements:

  • BS in Construction Management or a minimum of 2 years experience in construction supervisory work as a foreman or lead man.

  • Working knowledge of Primavera Project Planner or equivalent scheduling software.
  • Working knowledge of Prolog Manager or equivalent construction management software.
