FCI is dedicated to providing a safe and healthy work environment for all employees on our projects. FCI's exemplary safety record is a direct result of a major corporate commitment to safety. FCI has received numerous OSHA Awards including a Platinum Partnership Award for the last 5 years. Our current experience modifier rate (EMR) is 0.73, which is one of the lowest in the industry proving the effectiveness of our safety program.
We have two fundamental goals for our safety program:
- Eliminate personal injury, illness and property damage losses to FCI, subcontractors and its clients.
- Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, Local, FCI and Client health and safety requirements and standards.
We achieve these goals through a variety of methods:
- A corporate commitment to safety including a QA/QC/Safety Committee to regularly review and update the program.
- Goal setting both corporately and for each project
- Employing a full time Safety Director on staff
- Regular safety training for all employees including OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification
- Safety incentive programs to reward employees for good safety records
- Drug and Alcohol testing programs
- Proactive pre-construction planning and coordination with all trades on site
- Formulation of a project specific safety plan
- Weekly jobsite safety meetings
- Weekly safety audits of each project
