Joint Forces Readiness Center Complex at FE Warren AFB
Cheyenne, WY
FCI participated in the competitive bid process for this new, award-winning, complex located at FE Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, in the late summer of 2008. The main buildings were finished in September of 2010, with additional scope items completed in June of 2011. The project consists of two separate buildings - the Joint Forces Readiness Center (JFRC) and the Field Maintenance Shop (FMS), totaling 173,000 square feet.
New offices, classrooms, conference rooms, simulation/simulated weapons training areas, kitchen/cafe, and locker rooms are featured within the JFRC, a 145,000 square foot steel structure on spread footings. The FMS houses military vehicle and equipment maintenance operations, office space and storage within its masonry structure.
The FMS building earned LEED® Silver Certification, and the JFRC has earned LEED® Gold. Some sustainable features of this project include a horizontal geothermal system, extensive daylighting, construction waste recycling, water-efficient landscaping, lighting controls and enhanced commissioning.
