Routt County Justice Center
Steamboat Springs, CO
Construction of this new 49,630 square foot building began in April of 2006. The snowfall in Steamboat Springs was impressive during the winter season, and despite the several feet of snow that seemed would never melt, the $14,000,000 project remained on schedule. The new justice center is attached to the adjacent County jail by an underground tunnel, and renovations to the jail were included within FCI’s contract, and were finished as the new construction completed. The justice center is a structural steel frame with masonry and metal panel exterior with extensive glazing. The interior consists of courtrooms and county offices and includes terrazzo floors, exposed structural glu-lams, wood-paneled walls and a wide-range of security measures.
