Denver, CO

This new K-8 school for Denver Public Schools is the second of five new schools being built at the Stapleton Redevelopment Area.  The 101,000 SF school is constructed with extensive daylighting and was designed for students’ high-performance.  The two-story school accommodates 750 students and includes several unique learning features integrated into the construction.  On the site, there is an earth history time line, a grassland learning exhibit, an interactive garden, as well as an outdoor classroom.  The school’s heating and cooling comes from a geothermal system under the athletic fields.  The building is spread footings with steel and masonry structure with precast concrete and metal panel accents.
