Gypsum Creek Middle School
Gypsum, CO
This new middle school was built by FCI concurrently with the new Red Hill Elementary School on adjacent sites. Both were built in a new development of the Town of Gypsum and were designed to fit into the surrounding landscape, allowing close-by residents full view of the mountains and prairie in the area. The structure is steel and masonry on spread footings, with masonry block and stucco skin and the roofs are flat EPDM and pitched metal. The Owner decided to bid the large masonry portion of the project seperately and add to the contract as a change order. This building was completed in time for the start of the 2001 school year.
