Boulder Shelter for the Homeless
Boulder, CO
This 31,300 square foot, three-story facility features an energy-saving and environmentally-friendly design. Construction began in November 2002, and was completed early in December of 2003. The building provides areas for dining, sleeping, bathing, and recreation. The residents are also able to use the counseling and training services provided by the shelter. Gardens and animal kennels are also a part of the design. The shelter is designed to accommodate up to 160 residents, and provides a covered queuing area for check-in. Dental exam rooms, showers, laundry, administrative offices, and computer labs are also included in this beautiful addition to north Boulder.
